different methods of study

Hi am very glad that its the end of this semester. In this class i learned lots of thind that i didn't learn before. Because in India, its has differnt methods for study . Even in Universities or Colleges. Like In canada, plagiarism is very bad thing but in India we have to write same thing what other student wrote cuz In each class we have same topic and same explanation that tecaher told us to do. In india, yes we can rite in our own views but sometimes tecaher told us to do that she taught us in our own class. We have to do same question/answer that teacher explained us from the text books.
SO when I moved to canada teacher told that we dont have copy each other paper, even we can get serous punishment. Over here, In every subject we have to write in our own views. According t me its a good that sometimes from this activity we can learn more from others and then in our future we can rite anything from our own imagination.
Hi Mr trevor! Nice to see you. I think you are the 4th teacher in this class. haha! Its almost the end of this semester. We have lots of techer i think now students are also confused which teacher rules we follow. cuz every student have different methods to study. For me All of them are ok cuz we are here to study. But the good thing is that now we all of them have experience about different teachers. For example, some teacher gave us lots of assignment to do and some teacher gave us limited assignments. I think less asssignment is a good idea cuz i am a parttime employee and sometimes i have to do work that i can help my parents. Cuz sometimes i need money to buy my books and university tutuion fees.

Yes, i am glad that Mr. Trevor teaching us EAP tier 1

India

Hi mr Scott today I wanna talk about India. India is a developing country. India is the sevnth largest county in this world and India has the second largest population in this world. Indian people always repect cultures and beleifs but thier is one bad thing that they old thinkings. They belies in love marriages . Yes, They do respect love but they think except love in our life we have lots of other things that we are responsible. In my family I am the elder one but I am not alloow to have boyfriend cuz they think that if i make boyfriend then my my bro and sis will go wrong direction because of them I have to live my life how my parents say. Its not that my parents force me do something but I have stick in my Culture. You know "Indian culture". Indian culture poeple have old thinking. The other thing in India is there are lots of traditional festivals, beliefs and languages. In india , people speak 18 languages all together. And i know 4 of them. Every part of the india they speak different languages and Hindi is our national language. I think thats enogh if you want to ask anything else. u can talk with me personally . Ok Bye see ya

Who is welcome in our house
Following reason is the rules about who is welcome in my home। The people whom I and my family know such as: relatives, friends, family’s friend and sometimes neighbours. But, there is one thing that I want to consider is in our culture, we don’t have to invite personally. Usually, in my country most of the women’s are house wife. They can come anytime. Well, Drawing room is considered as a public space; where every guest can sit and chat with each other. Also, we don’t have any restrictions if any guest wants to go in our personal room.

According to my views, Canadians have different rules. Firstly, In Canada guests have to take permission if they want to visit somebody house. Initially, they have to ask on the phone because in Canada people have busy life. Secondly, this thing is similar between both cultures; Drawing room is considered as a public space; where every guest can sit and chat with each other. Sometimes, they don’t have enough time to meet somebody. Thirdly, if we want to enter in personally room we have to take permission.

Colours

Blue – Sky is blue. My name (Gagan) means Sky .Blue=Sky=Gagan. Sky is a beautiful thing to see. It depends on our life circle. According to day and night, we are automatically changing our routines. Yellow – Sun is yellow. It protects us from cold. Well, I don’t like cold so that’s the reason that I like sun. It have lots advantages such as it gives us energy, it generates solar system. Red– Roses are red. It is my favorite flower. At my home there are lots of rose’s shrubs. When I wake up every morning then I usually smell those flowers. Black– Some Dogs are black. It’s my favorite pet animal. Even, in India I used to have a dog. His name is black too. White–Stars are white. In night when I usually see sky then stars looks very beautiful and twinkle like a satellite. And, I always sing a song “Twinkle Twinkle Little star......” Green – Vegetables are green. I like to grow vegetables every summer in my house garden. I like to eat vegetables. Especially, When I get sick or sometimes when I feel week. In June my garden colours become green on grounds.

Blue – Rite now, Canada have conservative party and it has blue colour. Blue personalities fit into a team environment as well. Yellow – Maple leaves are yellow. And, In Canada maple leaves means a lot first of all it’s a symbol of Canadian flag and the other thing is we usually can see in autumn, It is lying on the roads. Red – In early 80s red colour means blood of angry workers and the other one is sign of danger. Black – Oil is black. In Canada oil is very rich mineral. Canadian government distributes oil in different countries. It’s a profit thing for them. White – White is very traditional colour in Canadian flag. Green – Green is a very grateful colour for Canadians. In Canada we usually have less infectious disease because Canada is a full of green environment.

In my opinion, from this blog that I learned are life styles, thinking, colours etc. I met one guy who is native. Well, He is my neighbour, He have totally different thinking from me. God gave us lots of opportunities in different colours. It is a good thing that we all have to enjoy our life in different colours.

Class Survey

1) I want to study English because I would like to improve my writing skills: grammar, speak good English to get ahead in my profession/career. Even, in my back country (India) I used to study English subjects but I don’t know the grammar concepts exactly. In addition, If I good English skills then I will teach to my parents and my some Indian relatives.
2) The subjects that I want to major in are AutoCAD, Micro station (computer soft wares).I took some of the CAD courses in winter at Southern Alberta institution technology at Calgary. But my English is not strong enough to get ahead in my next course that is the main reason I took EAP (English Academic programs) classes at University of Calgary.
3) In my career I would like to have drafting job because art is my passion it doesn’t matter to me that I’m drawing on the computer or I’m drawing on the art book. Also, I like to do CAD projects on the computer soft wares. Second thing that I want to mention is that my dad is also a Drafting piping Designer; if I need some kind of help then he will tell me about those projects.
4) I like the most thing in my free time is playing basketball with my brother at home or sometimes at the city playgrounds. I like to play this game because in India I am a state level in basketball, I like everything about basketball: watching basketball matches, playing basketball computer games, dribbling etc.
5) I do study English outside of class is reading novels, watching Canadian couture shows, talking with my friends: usually who speak English. I do work on the weekends at Wendy’s restaurant so over there I usually talk with customers and with my manager.
6) Rite now I didn’t sign for any course because first I have to finish my EAP (English Academic programs), then I have to sign up for my drafting courses: Microstation, Autoflow, 2D& 3D Animations at Southern Alberta institution technology.
7) The most difficult thing about learning English is doing presentations because it’s hard for me to express our views front of the students. My English accent is not strong enough then some students have hard time to find it what I’m trying to say.
8) The most difficult thing about going to college is travelling a bus because rite now I live in white horn area and my college is very far from my college so I took bus everyday at 6.30am and it takes me one hour fifteen minute to reach my college. So, I think its waste of time so I don’t like to waste my time every single day. 9) The easiest thing about learning English is reading horror novels because in the novels there are lots of interesting stories to read. Also in horror novels there lots of difficult vocabulary in it .So, I like to know difficult words in my life.
10) The skill that I need to improve my English is Grammar because I am very weak in writing the other thing is that in India we usually learn British English over there. So, sometime I get confused between United States English and British English.
